The Aquarius Tale

Dark Lore · 2026-08-26
In the depths of a forsaken night, where the moon dipped into the horizon like a ghostly galleon, the city of Erebo slumbered. Its spires and turrets pierced the darkness, like skeletal fingers reaching for the stars. The air was heavy with the scent of decay and forgotten dreams. From this city, a whispered rumor spread, a tale of beauty so captivating that it drew even the gods to its side. It spoke of Ganymede, the most radiant of mortals, whose eyes shone like sapphires in the darkness. His hair flowed like honeyed nectar down his back, and his skin glowed with an ethereal light. It was said that Jupiter, the king of the skies, had fallen deeply in love with Ganymede's beauty. But alas, his desire was not merely a passion, for it was a curse. For as he gazed upon Ganymede's loveliness, his own form began to twist and writhe like a living thing. His eyes turned into gleaming eagle talons, piercing the darkness with an unblinking gaze. His face elongated into a hawk's beak, sharp as any blade of silver. And from his neck, two great wings unfolded, beating the air into a frenzy of wind and shadow. The gods, entranced by Ganymede's beauty, placed him among the stars as if he were one of their own. Aquila and Aquarius, constellations born of his blood, shone bright in the firmament like beacons calling to the mortal world. Yet, beneath the surface of this celestial ballet, a different story unfolded. The gods, seduced by Ganymede's beauty, had made him cupbearer to their throne. He poured forth his essence into the cosmos, pouring out a libation to the gods that could not be contained. As the years went by, the city of Erebo began to wither and die. The people grew old and frail, their lives cut short by the cruel hand of fate. And Ganymede, now an immortal being, poured forth his endless supply of life force into the world below. But as he did so, a darkness gathered in the hearts of men. For they knew that their own mortality was but a fleeting moment, a brief flicker of light in the grand tapestry of existence. And Ganymede's gift was a curse, for it brought them all together, yet slowly drained away their very essence. In the end, only one remained, the last mortal to drink from the cupbearer's vessel. His eyes closed as he drank, and his soul slipped away into the void, leaving behind a city forever changed by the touch of the Water Bearer.

Poem · 2026-08-26
In twilight's hush, where shadows play, Amidst the trees, a secret way, To see a Dream in moonlit gleam, And a Hope that whispers out a dream. A whispering wind through ancient doors, Stirs memories of distant shores. A forgotten melody does rise, Echoes of a love that never dies. In mystic pools, a truth is told, Of hidden paths that only hearts hold. The stars above, a twinkling sea, Reflect the depths of humanity.
