The Cancer Tale
Dark Lore · 2026-08-26
In the depths of a forsaken swamp, where the cypress trees loomed like skeletal fingers and the air reeked of decay, Hercules stood firm against the Lernaean Hydra's relentless hunger. Its many heads twisted and writhed, their scaly bodies glistening with an otherworldly sheen in the faint moonlight that struggled to penetrate the gloom. The beast's jaws snapped shut just inches from his foot, but he refused to yield.
As the creature's deadly fangs bit into his skin, Hercules felt a strange, creeping sensation coursing through his veins – a sense of being consumed by an unseen force. Juno, the Queen of the Skies, watched over him with cold, calculating eyes, her presence like a whispered promise in the darkness.
When Hercules finally laid down his life, the Hydra's body would writhe and twist, its bodies reforming into new forms to strike at those who dared approach. It was as if it had been reborn, its agony a testament to the cruelty of fate. Juno's favor was not one to be taken lightly; she saw in Hercules a fleeting moment of weakness, a spark of his unyielding spirit that would soon be extinguished.
The Hydra's demise was a small price to pay for the favor it had bestowed upon Hercules – a reward that came with an eternal vigilance. The stars themselves whispered secrets to those who listened closely, and among them, a constellation was born: the Crab, its body a twisted mass of dark, pulsing tendrils, its eyes glowing like lanterns in the void.
As the ages passed, the Crab's presence would grow stronger, its influence spreading across the skies like a cancer. Those who gazed upon it saw only darkness and despair, but to those who knew the truth, they beheld a cruel mockery of justice – a constant reminder that some debts cannot be repaid, and some wrongs cannot be forgotten.
In the desolate expanse of space, the Crab remains, an unyielding sentinel of the cosmos, its malevolent spirit feeding on the shadows that dance across the stars. Its story is one of betrayal and revenge, a testament to the unforgiving nature of power and the enduring legacy of a single, doomed act – a reminder that some acts cannot be forgiven, and some wrongs will haunt us forever.

Poem · 2026-08-26
In twilight's hush, where shadows play,
A whispered promise holds its sway,
Amidst the trees, a midnight ray
Illuminates the fading day.
Her silken threads, like gossamer fine,
Weave tapestries of lunar design,
Her eyes, two lanterns bright and divine,
Reflect the starlight's gentle shine.
In secret gardens, hidden from the sun,
She reigns supreme, her beauty won,
A mystic queen, with powers begun,
To weave the threads of destiny's thin.
