Stress & Burnout

Understand prolonged stress, overload, emotional exhaustion and when ordinary stress may require additional support.

Understanding This

Stress is a normal response to demands and challenges. Problems can develop when stress is intense, prolonged or leaves too little time for recovery. People may notice emotional, physical, sleep, attention or relationship changes when the pressure continues.

What Someone May Experience

Feeling overwhelmed or constantly pressured
Irritability
Difficulty concentrating
Sleep changes
Physical tension
Low motivation
Emotional exhaustion
Pulling away from people or activities

What May Help

Identifying which demands can realistically be reduced
Regular sleep, food and movement
Time with supportive people
Breathing, meditation or other calming practices
Low-stress activities that provide genuine recovery
Professional support when symptoms persist or become severe

When to Reach Out

If stress is interfering with your ability to function, is not improving with ordinary recovery or is accompanied by severe mood or anxiety symptoms, consider talking with a healthcare professional.
