THE READING BEHIND THE CARDS
How This Tarot Reading Works
Tarot is a symbolic card tradition used for
reflection, storytelling and examining patterns.
A reading does not lock you into a fixed future.
Instead, the cards offer images, themes and
relationships that can help you look at a
question from another angle.
The SAGE Tarot experience uses a complete
78-card deck. Cards may appear upright or
reversed, and each position changes how the
card is read. You can enter a specific question
or simply ask for a general reading.
01
Past
The Past card represents the foundation of
the situation: earlier choices, experiences,
habits or influences that helped create the
conditions you are dealing with now.
02
Present
The Present card focuses on what is active
now. It may point toward an opportunity,
tension, relationship pattern, strength or
decision that deserves your attention.
03
Future
The Future card describes where the current
pattern may lead if things continue in a
similar direction. It represents possibility,
not an unavoidable outcome.
What Happens After You Reveal the Cards?
Once all three cards are revealed, SAGE reads
more than three isolated meanings. The
reading looks at how the Past, Present and
Future cards interact with one another and
how the tone of the spread changes across
the three positions.
Your full reading can include the central
message of the spread, individual card
interpretations, the story connecting the
cards, patterns that support you, possible
obstacles and a practical next step.
Ask a Useful Question
You can ask about love, relationships,
family, work, money, personal growth,
direction or another situation you are
thinking through. Questions that leave room
for reflection often give you more to work
with than questions that demand a guaranteed
prediction.
You may also leave the question field open
and receive a general reading. Your typed
question stays in your browser for the
reading experience and is used to frame the
interpretation shown to you.
Upright and Reversed Cards
An upright card often expresses a theme more
directly. A reversed card can suggest a
blocked, internalized, delayed or complicated
version of that same theme. Reversal does not
automatically mean that a card is negative.
SAGE considers both the orientation of the
card and the position where it appears,
because the same card can tell a different
part of the story when it appears in the
Past, Present or Future.
Use the Reading With Your Own Judgment
Tarot can be a powerful way to slow down,
notice patterns and put difficult feelings or
choices into words. It should not replace the
facts of your situation or your own ability
to make decisions.
Treat the reading as reflection rather than
certainty. Medical, legal, financial and
safety decisions should be based on reliable
real-world information and appropriate
professional help when needed.
